Burton Bradstock School backs the Light Bulb party
As the General Election reached it's final stages last week, election fever hit Burton Bradstock School too.

Pupils from Class 4 formed their own political parties and were busy electing party leaders and secretaries, creating a motto, writing their promises in their manifestos and canvassing the school during their break times. On Wednesday, each party addressed the school and told us the values that they stood for.

On Election Day, as the Polling Station opened in the village, a Polling Station was set up in the school hall too, with every pupil able to cast their vote at one of the voting booths. As with the General Election, all the votes were counted overnight and two returning officers read out the results to the whole school at the Friday morning assembly.

Mrs Staple, Headteacher added 'I am so proud of all the children in Class 4, who really threw themselves into the election spirit. Congratulations to the ‘Light Bulb’ party who won with a majority vote. The party will now be working with me to implement something new in the school so that their voice will ‘change the future’ - which is what they promised to do in their manifesto!'
