Wednesday 30th June 1999This week we took our 'river riding' raft down to freshwater beach, once we got their we were given our life jackets and told to launch it in the river. once in the water it went along quite well, we were trying to get to the bottom of the river and sail it out on to the sea, unfortunately the raft (But probably its pilots) could not negotiate the rocks blocking the end of the river! We ended up having to abandon it on the bank and walk to the sea instead. |

Wednesday 23rd June 1999Today we have managed to construct a raft, this took allot of mental contortion from our PL's who were trying desperately how to square lash two pioneering poles. in the end Graeme had to intervene as he saw how desperate we were getting. We finished at last, with about 10 minutes to go, had had fun building a raft with proper materials and had learnt many new knots. Wednesday 15th September 1999 Today was our first day back after the summer holidays. It was also the first day that girls were alowed to come to our meetings. we talked about what we are going to do this year and our visit to butlins. |
